Critical Role Season Four Reveals the Warriors Party

Since the launch of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with rich lore, a colorful mix of heroes, and a exciting storyline including angels, evil spirits, and dark forces expanding in power within the urban setting.

Note: Key plot points for Episode 3 of this adventure follow below.

The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed

Episode 3 concluded with a dramatic pause and revealed the initial group of heroes who will split off from the primary party to begin their independent quest, distinct from the remaining groups.

This warrior group consists of Teor (portrayed by Travis), the nimble rogue (Laura), the fierce warrior (the cast member), Wicander (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).

Dividing the Cast

With 13 cast members, it was obvious from the beginning that keeping everyone at a single group would be impossible.

Hence, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, weaving together the individual narratives before branching into three smaller tables: Fighters, Planners, and Explorers.

What Defines the Warrior Group

As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for players who prefer a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven story mode where peaceful solutions are scarce.

Upon first impression, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander might seem out of place, but the developments of the third episode demonstrate why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.

Motivations for Departure

To begin with, the group knows exactly where to head next after a intense first encounter with The Crow Keepers.

An old friend of the deceased character—whose demise started the campaign’s events—used The Crow Keepers for his own means, entering the secret base, striking the rogue, and taking all the enchanted items to sell off.

The antagonist then paid off his liabilities and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, above the city, with Cyd hot on his heels.

Individual Reasons

Additionally, each character has a individual motive to exit the metropolitan area:

  • The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, desires retribution.
  • The adventurer knows the northern area and warns that it is a nasty environment.
  • The strong character and The cleric, having disobeyed his house’s orders to eliminate the fighter and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
  • However, their status as prominent individuals in the influential clan could enable the party access places they usually can’t.
  • Additionally, Teor vowed a life debt to Wicander for his salvation and will now go with him wherever.

Fugitives

Finally, all of them are hunted by the powers that control the city for a variety of reasons, making staying in the city no longer safe:

  • The rogue and The character are known criminals.
  • Tyranny and Wicander betrayed the powerful family and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
  • The fighter is wanted dead by the family.

This means them little choice but to journey toward the northern region in pursuit of the antagonist.

Upcoming Developments

According to the recent installment’s post-show segment, we find out that the warrior group will not appear in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight cast members to assemble the Seekers and Planners tables.

Audiences can expect finding out which adventurers will be in which group in the story’s final introductory chapter, available to watch on the upcoming Thursday.
